And being the product of two completely different family’s, one blue blooded, landed gentry the other Irish Romany’s she had a great live musical background growing up going to the gigs of her uncles, one gave her a 1963 Gibson Hummingbird when she was 11 which inspired her to get serious. Classical guitar playing was her first passion then flamenco to country and on to blues roots rock, she is a troubadour, telling her tales with factual humour and wit, a musical inspiration, poetry to blues, instrumental energy, sing-a-long like you known the song forever, emotional empathy and raucous interaction people gawp at her passionate playing, every gigs a winner baby! .... always Bex, but never the same! Bex was the first and only ever woman to be invited to the International guitar festival in Clonikilty festival in cork this September....sharing the t-shirt with Thin Lizzys Eric Bell, Preston Reed, Matt Churchill etc. . Glastonbury festival 05 saw Bex play on four shows (inc acoustic and leftfield stage) leading up to a full 28-date summer tour with the U.K sell out bluegrass band Hayseed Dixie culminating at the London Forum. The Reno brothers, Dale and Don Wayne Reno also guest on three of Bex studio tracks on the new album. Bex Marshall gig at Americana Tonight at Douglas corner hosted this spur of the moment performance of Duelin Banjos by Bex Marshall and Don Wayne Reno from Hayseed Dixie. The Fleadh 04 was also a special time when she was on the bill with Bob Dylan, The Counting Crows and John Prine.... The debut album Bootlace has been greatly accepted on local and National Radio through out the U.K and Europe.
