I can't tell you how delighted I was when Sietse asked me recently if I'd like to join the Seagull crew.

Having known many of 'The Boys' for years, Chris Bent, Garry Lee and Sietse, that, like the late John Peel know their music inside out, whereas, I don’t.  Little wonder, that like Wayne and Garth, I initially felt 'I am not worthy'.

Nonetheless, I'm putting together a show for airing Wednesday nights that’s definitely worth a listen if your musical taste is as broad as mine.

Just for fun I'll be introducing some really Alan Partridgey radio features like  ‘The Blues Trilogy’, ‘Dude, where’s my career’?, ‘The Bedsit Collection’ and ‘The Rock Box’, as well as worthy music of every genre and every age that you can think of.

Where else would you find the unlikely combination of George Formby vs Motorhead and interviews with real life legends like Captain Gatso?

I'm having more fun with this show than I've had for years.   I hope you can find the time to give it a listen.

Unlike global warming and the price of petrol where we all see where its going, most mainstream commercial radio has yet to wake up to the declining audience and revenue day by day and an equally grim future.  Little wonder when Accountants rather than Entertainers run Radio stations and computers rather than people choose the songs.  So I can tell you I am really proud to be a friend of Radio Seagull that’s gaining in popularity every day simply because no two programmes are alike, every single one has its own unique identity.  You won’t like them all, I don’t even like them all, but you will find something to love that’ll be more than just audible ‘wallpaper’.
